Ive managed to pick out to my best ability the chords to this song as it's my favourite
and they're aren't enough Smith Street tabs here!

Im not sure of all the licks and shit through it but I find playing it my your self on
an acoustic or whatever you can fiddle around with D and Dsus4 to kinda imitate it.

Also not sure of the name of the chord so when you see this D/C# its

e--2--|
b--3--|
g--2--|
d--0--|
a--4--|
e-----|

[D]Walking back to my house the morning after the sugar cube and the
[D]Heavens opened up and drowned the heat.
With the trace[D] elements tickling my spine,
I took my shoes [G]off and danced in puddles
on the sudden downpour ghost town street.[D][(Dsus4)]

[G] [Bm] [Asus4] [A]

[D]Hello, my name is Wil and I slept through the millennium
But wh[G]at I wouldn't give to be young, dreaming and ten again.
It?s N[Bm]ew Years 2009, with what's in my system I won't be [Asus4]sleeping for a long time[A].
And whe[D]n I was a boy, I thought I was a fish and
[G]I still love the ocean like when I was a kid,
But la[Bm]tely I have come to the conclusion, that I'm disappointingly proba[Asus4]bly human.[A]
And I've come[D] a long way from those amphibious days and
I'd [G]like to thank the things I've seen, the friends that I've made,
All the peo[Bm]ple that have hurt me, the times that I've been saved and to
[Asus4]music, which has made me its most obliging [A]slave.
There's bloo[D]d on this guitar, there's sweat between these keys,
when I step[G] forward to the mic it?s with my tail between my knees,
But w[Bm]e aren't here to fight, we are here to dance.
No, we[Asus4] aren't here to fight, we are he[A]re to dance.

And then the summer c[G]rept up like only a Melbourne summer can.[A]
We duc[G]ked back in our alleys and pretended to hate [A]our tans.
And to[G]ld each other one day, we'd all look back and[A] smile,

[D] [D/C#][Bm]
W[Asus4]hile k[A]nowing that we've been drinking ourselves to sleep for a long time.
And now[G] we're back at work and we're working on those numb[A]ers.
They're gett[G]ing us in our sleep, we're having nightmares in our s[A]lumber,
About the dealer[G]s and the overheads we're going to have to pay.[A]
Just pass out[D], [D/C#] pass out[Bm], pass out, p[Asus4]ass out.[G][A]
It?s a job for another day.[D][(Dsus4)]

The next bit is pretty much the same

And last night I kissed a girl that I met in a bar, which seems momentous given how
things are.
We made out all morning then slept in the afternoon and she said, "Wil, I think that I
can deal with you."
And I never found the right way to say thanks to Alex for keeping my head screwed on.
For telling me when I was wrong, even though I've known all along.
It?s time to clean up, start a band, get back on the road again. Stay sober and
appreciate my friends.
So I'd like to say thank you to every single one of you for everything.

And then the summer [G]crept up like only a Melbourne summer can.[A]
We duc[G]ked back in our alleys and pretended to hate [A]our tans.

Hope it makes some kind of sense, I think its pretty close at least and is a decent
version to play by your self and sing along what have you. Comments/corrections welcome coz
If i can play it a better way Id love to know!

Tabbed My Mitchell Jones.
